Get Info » Counselling » How to find out more
You can contact the counsellors yourself (see below) or give a friend permission to make contact on your behalf.
- You will then be invited to an assessment meeting with a counsellor where you can ask any questions about counselling.
- Together with the counsellor, you will explore if counselling is right for you at this time.
- You may want to go away and think matters over further.
- You may decide you would like to arrange your first counselling session after the assessment meeting. Counselling is offered in different places in central Wakefield, Normanton and Hemsworth, etc. Where possible, your counsellor will try to arrange to see you at the most suitable venue for your needs.
- You will be offered ten sessions. At your first session, together with your counsellor, you will read through and sign a working agreement.
- You may find that not all ten sessions are needed by you and it is fine to end counselling at any time and to discuss this with your counsellor. However, if you feel ten sessions are not enough this can also be negotiated with your counsellor.
