Wakefield District Youth Opportunity Fund & Youth Capital Fund
Criteria for Applications
Any group of 3 or more Young People can apply as long as:-

They are aged 13 to 19 years old.

They live in the Wakefield District.
How much can they apply for?
Maximum £35,000 or more if it benefits over 100 Young People.
All bids over £500 must be in by set dates (see "How to apply")
Bids under £500 can be submitted at any time for fast track approval
- The funds are intended to help young people in the District to develop things for themselves and other young people WITHIN Wakefield District.
- Adults supporting the bids must not receive any payment from the resulting grant.
- Grants can be spent on activities outside the District only if they can't be done in the District.
- The grants should be intended to enable young people to benefit who previously would not have.
- Applications must have at least three named young applicants.
- Projects/activities are more likely to get funded if they will help young people to do one or more of the following :-
Be healthy
Be safe
Have fun but get something out of it (like qualifications or certificates)
Make things better for lots of different people
Deal with money problems (by earning more, and/or spending less)
Have young people come up with this idea? Will it contribute to at least one of the 5 Every Child Matters Outcomes for young people to: -

Will it benefit young people aged 13-19 who live in the Wakefield District?
Will it improve things to do and places to go for young people?
Have you checked this idea out with other people who may be affected? eg Other young people using a centre or community members.
Do you have an INDEPENDENT supporting adult willing to take responsibility for the finance and monitoring?
